“It’s a Celebration”
I produced this record for my big brother for his birthday. I wanted to create a celebratory soundtrack to jam to at a birthday bash, a summer barbecue, or a casual gathering with friends.
“Stay Together”
I was listening to a lot of soul music when creating this composition. I wanted to mimic and recreate that magical 90’s R&B vibe, with my own twist of course.
“The Black Bond”
I was vacationing in the Big Island of Hawaii when I came up with the concept and began producing this instrumental. I felt so inspired by the lush, expansive, and mystifying forestry I was viewing.
“I Did it My Way”
I was feeling really empowered when I created this song and wanted this sentiment to echo throughout the composition. The song serves as symbolism for achieving personal triumph.
“Civil War”
I had just finished watching the movie, “Civil War.” I was absolutely mesmerized by its realism and war-like intensity. I’m a huge fan of the movie’s director, Alex Garland. So I wanted to create a riveting soundtrack you may hear in an intense drama or film.
“Feeling Meditative”
I wanted to create a track of meditation and empowerment because I was feeling very vulnerable during this time. I ended up juxtaposing contemplative musical elements with highly-energetic, ethereal production.
“Until the End of Time”
I wanted you to imagine that you were going on a winding, majestic, and contemplative journey. I felt inspired by Wes Anderson’s whimsical and imaginative approaches to many of his films.
“It Was All A Dream”
When I created this track, I was listening to a lot of new hip hop (mainly trap, grime, and drill music). I found the production to be quite compelling, layered, nuanced, and alluring. I wanted to create my own version of this, pairing a modern, yet, futuristic trap sound with a lush, rich, dreamy, and compelling sonic landscape.
“Primetime”
I had just finished watching the spellbinding “John Wick” movie series and wanted to create a composition for such a combative and intense cinematic experience.
“Elevate”
I was listening to Eminem’s “No Love” and found Just Blaze’s production to be masterful, full of positivity and possibility. I wanted to create a song with a similar inspiring tone.
“The Light”
I’ve always enjoyed watching wildlife programs, so I wanted to create an energetic, warm, and elegant track for something like a travel vlog or a nature documentary.
“Run”
I’m a huge fan of alien invasion horror films and really enjoyed watching Jordan Peele’s “Nope.” I felt inspired to create a pulsating and suspenseful instrumental for such a movie.
“Westsiiiiiiide”
I’ve always been a big fan of Dr. Dre and the California hip hop movement. I wanted to produce a track that showcases the powerful and vibrant sounds that have shaped this sub-genre.
“Welcome to Hollywood”
I was feeling solemn and isolated during the production of this track. So the feel is gloomy and introspective, yet hopeful.
“Paradise”
My inspiration for creating this came after watching the “Creed” movie series. I felt compelled to create a motivational and immersive listening experience.
“Never Take My Smile”
I wanted to create a song that was abound with optimism and buoyancy. It ended up having more of a “pop” sound than I had initially imagined, but I think it fulfills the original purpose I was going for; to inspire and offer a hopeful tone.
“To the Moon”
I’m a big sports fan so I wanted to produce a high-energy, “get-hype” track. I imagined this song thumping in the background during the introduction of the Warriors basketball team before a big game.
“Higher”
I produced “Higher” as a resounding and momentous track. I ended up blending the heavy bass lines and sharp hi-hats of trap music with the energetic and pulsating vibes of electronica.
“Cali Till I Die”
I wanted to create a soundtrack that encapsulates the vibrant and dynamic essence of West Coast hip hop. As I mentioned previously, I’m a huge fan of this culture and movement and have lived in California for more than 15 years now.
“Fade Away”
I love creating movie scores, but I wanted to specifically create a flexible composition that could seamlessly be used into multiple genres of films.
“Raise The Banner”
I wanted to create an anthem that could serve as a powerful mantra for conquering any challenge; whether it is preparing for a big game, getting ready for a big presentation, or trying to overcome a professional / personal challenge.
“Dreaming”
This was an incredibly fun record to produce and write to. I began creating this song not long after I had graduated from university, so it very much carries my youthful spirit at the time. But it also reflects my sense of wonder, introspection, and excitement for what’s to come.
“Light the Sky”
I recorded this song in San Diego, Ca. I ended up nabbing a wonderfully, innovative instrumental by Hudson Mohawke, one of my favorite producers of all time. I felt like a superhero when I was writing to this song in the studio, infusing it with soul-stirring lyrics, humor, and my own vulnerabilities.
I felt like the song was still missing something, so I later coached one of my friends to sing the chorus and the rest is history.
“Superhero”
As I stated before, I absolutely love producing musical scores. I wanted this one to specifically evoke a sense of heroism and strength, capturing the essence of a gripping storyline filled with bravery and action.
“The World”
A huge shoutout to DJ Deaconstrukt for lending his vocals and producing such a wonderful song. When I wrote to this track, I wanted it to sound like a love letter to a person I was dating at the time. The relationship between us obviously did not work out but I’m still fortunate because the experience resulted in a timeless song.
“Everywhere I Go”
My friend Bliss asked me to hop on this track. Upon listening to it, I loved it right away. I felt compelled to add my own lyrical swagger and optimism to an already incredible song.
“African Boi”
With this instrumental, I wanted to infuse the energetic rhythms of Africa with a contemporary spin.
“Star in a Distance”
I created this song as a resounding anthem for overcoming personal struggles.
“Grimy Fella”
“Grimy Fella” takes you on a captivating musical journey, evoking imagery of the vibrant energy of urban streets.
“Lift Your Hands”
“Lift Your Hands” brings an undeniable sense of vivacity and conjures a celebratory spirit, whether used as background music for a promotional video, at a social gathering, or as part of a fitness routine.
“The Great Rise”
“The Great Rise” is a dynamic song that masterfully combines upbeat and vibrant instrumentation with heartfelt lyrics to create a rich, evocative, and soulful track.
